Frequently asked questions

You've got questions. We've got answers.

What is included?

You get access to the full course — recorded modules covering everything from finding a product idea to getting your first sale. On top of that, you get direct access to me for questions, free website audits, and ongoing Q&A support. This isn't a library of videos you're left to figure out alone. There's actual support built in.

How is it different to what's on YouTube?

YouTube gives you fragments. A video on sourcing here, a video on Shopify there, nothing joined up and half of it contradicts the other half. This is a structured path built around actually launching a product business — in order, with context, and with someone to ask when you get stuck. The difference is a system versus a scroll.

How long does the mentorship last?

The modules are designed to get you moving fast — not to pad out hours so it feels like you got random inflated “value”. The real answer is: it takes as long as it takes you to take action. If you pay attention, complete the mandatory tasks and make full use of all resources that are given to you, you can expect the program to last several months.

Is it self-paced?

Fully self-paced. You work through the modules when it suits you. No live sessions you have to rearrange your life for. If you've got an hour on a Tuesday night and a couple of hours on the weekend, that's enough to make progress.

What level of experience do I need?

None. This is built for people starting from scratch. If you've never sold a product online before, you're exactly who this is for. If you've got some experience already, even better — the foundations will make everything click faster.

Who is Joe and why should I listen to him?

I'm not a course creator who randomly decided to teach ecommerce. I built a real product brand — The Improvement Artist — designed an original product from scratch and got it stocked in schools and universities across the UK. I've done the actual work: sourcing, suppliers, building a brand, selling. DayOneEcom came from wanting to give people a proper starting point — the kind I had to figure out the hard way. I'm a practitioner who teaches, not the other way around.

How much time do I need to put in?

A few hours a week is enough to make real progress. You don't need to go full-time on this. What matters more than hours, is consistency — showing up each week and moving the needle. The people who get results aren't the ones with the most time, they're the ones who don't let weeks go by without doing something.

How much money do I need to start?

You don't need to go and order 10,000 units before you've validated anything. The program covers how to start lean, test before you commit, and build up from there. The goal is your first sale, not your first warehouse. We recommend a minimum of £500 to start which is enough to get you your various subscriptions and your product samples etc.

What if I already have a product idea, can I still join?

Absolutely. If anything, you're ahead. The program will help you pressure-test that idea, figure out if there's a real market for it, and build the right foundations around it rather than just charging ahead and hoping for the best.

Why is it a monthly subscription and not a one-time fee?

Because this isn't a course you buy, watch once, and forget. The ongoing cost covers continued access to me — questions answered, audits done, new content added as things develop. A one-time fee works for a static resource. This isn't static. You're paying for an active support system, not just a library.

I have tried Ecommerce before and it didn't work - how is this different?

I've tried ecommerce before and it didn't work — is this different?
Depends why it didn't work. Most people who've failed at ecommerce either picked the wrong product, built on shaky foundations, or had no one to sense-check what they were doing. If that sounds familiar, then yes — this is different. This is built around getting the foundations right before you spend money or time on anything else. If you came in and did exactly the same thing you did before, you'd probably get the same result. The point is you wouldn't.

What if it isn't right for me?

Then it's not right for you — and I'd rather you figure that out early than sit on the fence. If you're not sure, have a look at what's included, read through what other people are saying, and ask me a question directly. I'd rather answer your doubts upfront than have you join uncertain and leave disappointed. But if you're serious about building a real product business and you want structure and support to do it — this was built for you.

What's the refund policy?

Yes. If you get in, go through the material, and genuinely feel it wasn't worth it — reach out within 14 days of your original sign up date and we'll process your refund no questions asked. I'm not interested in keeping money from someone who didn't get value. What I'd ask is that you actually give it a proper go before deciding that.

Why is the founding member price cheaper? What's the catch?

There's no catch. The price is lower because you're coming in at the start — before the testimonials, before the case studies, before the track record is public. In exchange, you get the lowest price this will ever be and direct access while the group is still small. When results start coming in and the price goes up, founding members keep what they locked in.
